Sophie the Giraffe & Keyring

Sophie la girafe® is a multi-award winning toy that is loved by children worldwide. She is made from 100% natural rubber from the Havea tree and painted with natural food grade paints. Natural Rubber is soft, safe & non-toxic for baby to teethe & chew.

Sophie is designed to soothe babies gums during all stages of teething. Her bumpy head (ears, nose, horns) and numerous chewable parts help in the early stages with front teeth. In later stages of teething her legs and hooves can be used for entire gum chewing of hard to reach molars.

Over the past 30 years, giraffe populations have declined by about 30% in Africa. There are now only 111,000 giraffes left in the wild. This means that there is only ONE giraffe for every FOUR African elephants!

So that our children and future generations can have the chance to admire them in their wild state, Sophie la girafe® has decided to join forces with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation so that we can all act together to save them.

The Giraffe Conservation Foundation is the only organization in the world that focuses solely on the conservation and management of the giraffe in the wild across Africa. The organization currently works in 16 African countries and 17 million hectares where giraffes live. That's why we chose them for our "Save the Giraffes" solidarity box .

Funds raised will be used to support the Giraffe Conservation Foundation in their translocation operations. GCF teams travel throughout Africa to strengthen small populations of giraffes and return them to areas where they have become extinct. Translocation operations are an effective conservation tool to ensure a future for giraffes in the wild.
